This is a list of my favorite authors and the books they have written.

As with most readers of fantasy it was with Tolkien that I first started reading this type of fiction. The Lord of The Rings is still the best book I have every read (and re-read several times)

David Eddings is one of the few fantasy writers to make his books as humourous as possable and yet still keep to what is expected of a fantasy story.

What I like best is ease of style that makes his book effortless to read.

There are four series of books by this author all of which are well worth reading.

The Elenium

The Tamuli

This author has writen several great books, the best of which is:

The Helliconian Trilogy

This is written using the best of both sci/fi and fantasy concepts, and is a very interesting story following the progress of several families over the course of several centries.

Terry Brooks is a pure fantasy writer who has written two fantastic series of books:

The Shannara Series

Is a collection of eight books that has all the magic, elves and other cultures that the true fantasy reader has come to expect.

The Magic Kingdom of Landover Series

These five books are about a rich lawer who finds a advert for a magic kingdom for sale. His wife has died in a car accident and he is missing her badly and ends up buying the throne to the magic kingdom of Landover.

These are well writen books in a style similar to C.S Lewis and I enjoyed them very much.

Stephen Donaldson has written several books but like most of the authors I like he has writen a great series of books called:

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever.

This is a series of six books that start off in the 'real' world and take the central charactor into a world of pure fantasy, it is a wonderful story full of rich charactors and emotions.

Julian May is one of my most favorite authors who has written several different series of books, the best of which I have listed below.

I greatly enjoyed all of these books which are science fiction at its best.

This author is the best science fiction writer I know of, every book of his I have read has been great, there are so many of them that I won't even try to list them, I will however say that one series of his does stand out in my mind as being the best.
